Wide
Love this shoe but each version has gotten more wide. They look great & are so comfortable but wish they hadn’t increased the width. Will definitely buy previous versions if I can find them.
Beautiful shoes
Box basics has always proven to be a great company with great customer service, speedy delivery, and quality shoes!
Great all in one training shoe
I’ve been using the free metcons 6 for 2 weeks and I love them. The are comfortable, flexible for HIT and lounges, and very stable at heel which has been great for deadlifts. They do offer some lateral stability for lateral lounges, but again I don’t lift very heavy, under 100 lbs. (For that purpose I’ll probably will pick the traditional metcons). For everything I do at the gym, which is basic training (with not much weight, under 100lbs) and ocasional HIT they work great. I also love the all black shoe, and they are kind of cute for an all black shoe. My only complaint is the wider toe box which is counterproductive for lifting. I sized down 1/2 size and it worked for me, however I still wish the toe box was smaller, like the free metcons 5, that literally hug your feet. (I dont own, but tried the free metcon 5 at a store and these ran thru to my size, 7.5). I also wish the arch support on the FM6 was similar to the FM5. Took me sometime to get used to it but for me it seems like the arch support on the FM6 spreads out more to the lateral side of the shoe somehow conferring lateral stability (in comparison to the FM5 arch support which I was an instantly pleased with). I appreciate that the FM6 have more cushion at the mid sole which has been great for HIT and jumps. They also feel more stable laterally than the FM5 I tried at the store. I dont own a pair of Free metcon 5 but I would pick the 6 above it bc it offers improved midsole cushion that works for my HIT workouts and better lateral and heel stability for my basic lifting needs. The shoe laced are a bit too long for me but I’ll survive, lol.
