The 2014 North Central CrossFit Regionals are taking place at the Navy Pier in Chicago May 9th-11th and if you're looking to head over to the Windy City for some great competition, here's a few things to make your stay even more enjoyable.
Things to Do (Between Competitions)
Chicago's citizens are very proud of their city, which is known for its diverse architecture, history, and devotion to industry and growth. Take in the highest view from the Willis Tower, then get back down to earth to take a look around Millennium Park and the Cloud Gate, fondly known as “the Bean.” Navy Pier, which is hosting the Regionals, is also home to several attractions, including the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel and water taxis.
Places to Eat
If you're looking for paleo dining options, mEAT in the Lakeview neighborhood offers an incomparably delicious experience with a fun atmosphere and incredible service. If you like your meat on swords instead of skewers, check out Fogo de Chao in the River North neighborhood. One price for all you can eat of the finest meat in the city. For burgers or other traditional American fare, go to DMK Burger Bar in Lakeview or Butcher & the Burger in Lincoln Park for a savory selection of grass-fed beef.
Nightlife
Given Chicago's prohibition history, it's not surprising the city is home to some of the best bars and breweries in the country, including Goose Island and Revolution. If you're looking for a fun and authentic Chicago bar, go to Rossi's near Navy Pier or Delilah's in Lincoln Park. If you're looking for another glimpse at Chicago's cultural scene, The Second City provides the best comedy in the city. With a list of illustrious alumni a mile long, you're likely to see a future SNL star. Of course Chicago would be nothing without its Jazz and Blues scene, and our pick is Rosa's Lounge for a great down-to-earth experience.

Chicago is truly one of the great strong and resilient American cities, which makes it the perfect city to host an event featuring some of the strongest and hardest working athletes in the region.
Might want to add Atlas Crossfit, Crossfit Chicago, Division Street and South Loop on here if you want some cred.
