The North West CrossFit Regionals are taking place May 16-18 in Kent, Washington, just a few miles south of Seattle at the almost brand spanking new ShoWare Center. If you're heading to the beautiful and rugged Pacific Northwest to watch the region's top athletes and teams battle for a spot on the podium and a ticket to the CrossFit Games, then we have all the info you'll need to make your weekend one to remember!
Where to eat
Kent has a thriving Asian community and the cuisine to prove it. Check out Pacific Ocean Vietnamese Restaurant and their mouthwatering short ribs, or Banyan Tree for some truly terrific Thai. If you're looking for something a little more western, you'll want to check out Naked Pizza (we know you do Crossfit and have a beautiful physique, but clothing is required), with their satisfying gluten-free options, or Airways Brewing Beer & Bistro. Finally, give your stomach a present at Family Drive-In, where you can get some perfectly cooked crinkle fries (can you say cheat day!?!).
Things to Do
If you're looking to stretch your tourist legs during your visit, head up to Seattle and visit Pike Place Market, THE public market unlike any other. See men throwing fish larger than Jason Khalipa's biceps, listen to some skilled buskers, or grab a cup of coffee from the original Starbucks. Or if you want to see something truly unique, take a look at the gum wall. The Space Needle located at the Seattle Center provides great views of the city for free. If the notoriously wet and dreary Northwest weather permits, the Washington State Ferries which is the largest ferry system in the country offer you and the family a unique and memorable look at the majestic Puget Sound.
