The supplement, vitamin, and overall sports nutrition industry has been booming for the last couple of decades. It seems like every other day there’s a new product available touting the ability to enhance your performance in one way or another - some more outlandish than others. As the sport of fitness continues to grow and evolve, so too will the number of supplements marketed to the crossfit athlete. One of the newer supplements to hit local boxes is Extreme Endurance, developed and manufactured by nutraceutical company Extreme Endurance. Well known within the triathlete and endurance sport communities, Extreme Endurance is designed to effectively:
- Reduce muscle soreness
- Increase aerobic capacity
- Buffer lactic acid
These potential physiological benefits transfer well into the demanding nature of WODs, so some fellow crossfitters at East Valley CrossFit in Arizona put Extreme Endurance to the test using Fran as their benchmark workout. Fran is probably one of the most feared and loathed workouts, and one that has been designed to push the limits of every athlete.
The results of the test showed that athletes reduced their Fran time by 22 seconds on average in just seven days (And as any crossfitter knows shaving 22 seconds off your Fran time is no easy task)! Recorded lactic acid levels were also lower post-WOD which meant the athletes were less likely to feel the pain and soreness after Fran.
If you’re looking for that little something to help you push your training to the next level then Extreme Endurance is a quality product with years of research and development behind it. Your quicker recovery time will make it easier for you to go that extra mile or minute. A nice aspect of this supplement is that every batch is tested for banned substances thus making it in compliance to International Olympic Committee standards.
