This time of year is when you look back at all you've done the previous year, and what you want to accomplish in the new year. As Crossfitters we love having goals, hitting milestones, and being able to track our progress. The strong folks at CrossFit Central out in Austin, TX have come up with one of the best New Year's resolution lists for Crossfitters. Check them all out and see which ones you'll be doing in 2017.
- Drop it like it’s hot under a new 1-rep-max backsquat (and stand it back up).
- Try that "caveman thing" (ie. Paleo, ie. "eating real food").
- Wake up earlier to hit a 5:30 or 6:30 AM class on a regular basis.
- Shave 1-minute off your Fran time.
- Stop cherry-picking workouts—show up on the days I don’t like the workout on the whiteboard.
- Get my pull-ups.
- Get a muscle-up or handstand pushup.
- Handstand walk "X"-amount of feet.
- Look good naked.
- Go Rx on a WOD.
- Push "X"-amount of weight overhead.
- Join the "200 club" (for girls)- squats or deadlifts; Join the "300" or "400" club (for guys).
- Stop comparing myself to others—it’s me vs. me.
- Cut out added sugar.
- Gain some more muscle.
- Shed some body fat.
- Participate in the CrossFit Open.
- Sign up for a local competition.
- Take a podium spot in a competition.
- Get a friend or family member to try CrossFit.
- Get my Level I (or Level II, now) Certification.
- Start a bootcamp or CrossFit-style workout for teachers, kids, inner-city neighborhoods, etc.
- PR an old Open workout, Benchmark or Hero WOD.
- Increase my 400-meter run or 500-meter row split.
- Learn to swim.
